Lampard knows Carlo’s tactics inside out. Carlo does not know Lampard’s......
Ancelotti’s Napoli rarely played 2 wide players. Quite a lot of the time he had a Ruiz or Zelinski wide. I wonder if that’s what he will do with us in time.It is too slow and it's been built to play a 433. To play 442 you need two beast like athletes to go up and down like Capoue and Docoure. Gomes might be capable alongside the right DM. Morgan is limited but can do that one job of sitting but isn't mobile enough to get around the pitch. But we are both out numbered and out fought and yesterday we looked old in midfield and well off if.
At the moment, Mo Besic should be playing as our defensive midfielder.
And we missed Schneiderlin yesterday.
I actually just wrote that.
Im thinking of self isolation.
and nobody makes proper right or left midfielders now. Trevor Steven, Kanchelskis, Giggs, Lee Sharpe, all these types of players are from the past now> I think even Dowell could have seen an opportunity as a left sided attacker or midfielder and really worked on his strength and pace and changed a little. I know it's easier said than done, but players need to see the opportunity. Again with DCL, even though he still has limitations, yhou can't help but admire that summer where he bulked up and the last one where he was getting personal training. his mates should learn from that!
The surprises just keep coming. He was mate.
Pirlo would have struggled in the Prem .You can be slow and still get stuff done...see Pirlo, Gareth Barry etc. We just don't have a midfield that gels for any length of time.
