Excellent subsitute players but not good enough to play regular start games.
However, it doesnt mean we dont need him.
His effort and attitude always changes the games. I would say he is our Giroud.
Evidently there are games which will suit him and games which won't, always danger as an impact sub though!

Because he isn’t, let’s be honest.

He’s hard working, goal getting and a nightmare to play against but he’s the furthest thing from technically gifted.

I love Calvert Lewin’s technical ability when he was bringing the ball down with those silky touches out wide nowhere near the goal losing zero threat whatsoever. Rooney was technically great too, some sublime touches outside the box nowhere near the goal. It’s overrsted this goal scoring lark.

That header was great. He had to generate all the power in it as well as direct it back across goal, he clearly wasn't going for the other corner because why would you in that situation from a cross that's floating at 0.7mph away from goal at neck height? His body shape makes it practically impossible to contort your neck enough to power it into the other corner, it'd have to be a glancing header and the cross had nowhere near enough pace on it for that. It went exactly where he wanted to put it.

That' my take on it too. It went where he intended it too but he mistimed it and didn' get the contact exactly right but it was a good finish. He is a good finisher.

It was a good finish, but palace should be worried, that had 5 men in the box and none of them were marking the only attacker we had in the box, it was a free header about 7 yards out

It was a superb cross/chip from our much maligned 'LB'.

Just world class movement by Niasse.

Yes, but what would you have said if Benteke had scored that at the other end? Niasse did well, but their defence crumpled like a paper cup after the first goal went in. The third goal was even worse from a defensive point of view. I think they had two men on the line, turning their back to the ball and screaming “not in the face!”

I've seen enough defensive calamities from us these past few years to last me a lifetime so I'll gladly take one at the other end.

That's the way I saw it too. If he had put it the other side of the goal there was a defender stood on the line there. I think all these "expert pundits" are just jealous of his abilities and good looks
