The thing is the hold up play hasn't really worked for us all season, when we play it we don't get hardly any shots on goal. The way we played yesterday was perfect and should be plan A especially at home. It would be nice to see if Tosun could be useful in a plan B style, DCL is a tidy player but adds very little to the game, a lot rate him but at the moment he's nowhere near good enough for us.

Do you truthfully think BFS has any idea of something like that??

This is 100% correct, it's exactly what I've thought for a long time. Like you have put Koeman was to pig headed to give him a try and only did in the end due to desperation, Sam started off here much the same by not really involving him much, but now it's finally clicked that Niasse helps the team much more than he thought, also Davies does much the Same. From the off this season, if Niasse and Davies had have played instead of DCL and Snides we would have a fair few more points, but recently the addition of Walcott has also added much more to our attacks especially pace.

I like DCL and hope he improves on his weaknesses.
I agree though:
Davies, Niasse more involved from the beginning of the season would have certainly made a difference. We used to think that Niasse could only be an impact sub, but that was down to his match fitness. Importantly, Niasse, Davies and I would say Gana (without Schneiderlin) and now Walcott, , add a lot of energy, determination and drive to the team, and you surely can't help but look at them and feel shamed into running, trying hard and working for the team...this attitude must be infectious

Pickford, if he were an outfield player, would demonstrate the same kind of energy
Would add Rooney as well, if only for his presence if not his fitness and energy , he at least looks and behaves like he cares

Well I can't believe someone that has been in the game so long could be think enough not to realise Niasse and Davies playing make us massively better going forward. But then he will probably bring Snides and DCL back in for the next game, then I'll be at a loss what I think Sam knows about football, the Arsenal game line up was a very weird one fancy trying to copy Swansea, I couldn't get my head around that one.Lets see if he has finally learnt to continue to do something different to what Koeman did, when he does we do better.

The knack with any striker being in the right place at the right time. He has certainly knocked some goals in, bet some clubs out there would not say no.
If he played for city the amount of chances they produce Niasse would probably get over 30, like you said it's being in the right place you can't really teach that a player has it or he doesn't, Niasse does that's why he scores a fair few.

imagine if we'd let him go at the start if the season?
We'd be fecked
Many did want him gone, going on the basis of what the likes of Martinez, Koeman, Lukaku, various pundits have said. He has proved them all wrong, but even last night on MOTD knocked him saying it was a lucky header, didn't want to praise him one bit.

When does he start turning into a bargain? I wouldn't be selling him in the summer now anyway.

Add a top striker to him and Tosun and then just focus on fixing that defence.

Although I would take a punt on shaqiri for cheap if Stoke go down.

What did Lukaku say ?

MOTD is a strange one - they had a massive debate about diving and didn’t even mention the Niasse ban

It was a great header, placed the ball back to where it came from, and right in the corner.
