I don't know what player your watching, Niasse is a really useful player for us we improve massively when he plays he scores goals, makes space for others provides assists what do you really want?. Is it because he was only (I think) 13 million or because it was reported Lukaku more or less took the p**s out of him or because Koeman didn't rate him (have you ever rated their judgment). If he had have been played from the off this season I'm sure he would be well in double figures now, which isn't easy for most so called top strikers, be careful what you wish for in a so called top striker they aren't always as good as you think when they come to the PL, but there always the proven PL types of Long,Carroll or Austin but I'd prefer Niasse any day to them lot.

+1

I thought he played very well today.

Extrapolating his goals per minute this year, he’d be on track to score 28 goals this season assuming a full 90 for all 38 games. How can someone so awkward be so affective?

what's the odds of Niasse winning the golden boot at the world cup.

as far as him being crap he's not. if omar is crap then so is Inzaghi. maybe he doesn't make everyone around him better, who cares? have you looked at our formations? there is no one within miles of him when he has the ball anyway.

He`s one of the strangest players that we`ve ever had.

Crap, yet scores goals.

Can`t help but like the fella though.
Love the man. I recently looked again at him laughing and smiling when Barkley scored that Paneta penalty when he first arrived. He has carried on being that lovable feller we all saw.

Sam has been lambasted for making him our number one striker. Whether it's because Sam loves him as much as we do, or he just knows he will get us goals, he should be applauded for his faith in the smiling Prince. :)

DCL works hard and wins a lot of flick ons but they rarely find a team mate as he's so isolated. He seems to lack a killer instinct as he just doesn't find goal scoring positions often enough and when he does his finishing is poor.
He's clearly much more the conventional target man but the primary job of a striker is to score and Oumar is far superior at that right now. A fact recognised by Unsworth and now Sam who both dropped DCL for Oumar.
If pig head Koeman had done the same he might still be here.
This is 100% correct, it's exactly what I've thought for a long time. Like you have put Koeman was to pig headed to give him a try and only did in the end due to desperation, Sam started off here much the same by not really involving him much, but now it's finally clicked that Niasse helps the team much more than he thought, also Davies does much the Same. From the off this season, if Niasse and Davies had have played instead of DCL and Snides we would have a fair few more points, but recently the addition of Walcott has also added much more to our attacks especially pace.

I don't disagree but Niasse isn't the player you want on the receiving end of endless hoofs. DCL is an out and out target man type player, Niasse an opportunist. If we play the style we played yestreday, Niasse every day of the week. But with 5 at the back, 3 DMS, I'd take DCL - because in the unlikely scenario where we get a shot on target, I'd trust DCL to hold the play up and fend off to a Rooney/Siggy type.
The thing is the hold up play hasn't really worked for us all season, when we play it we don't get hardly any shots on goal. The way we played yesterday was perfect and should be plan A especially at home. It would be nice to see if Tosun could be useful in a plan B style, DCL is a tidy player but adds very little to the game, a lot rate him but at the moment he's nowhere near good enough for us.
