Positioning? He's scored two goals with his arse and one when he fell over... Bournemouth he was in right place at the right time and palace was a mistake from the keeper. The rest of the time he literally cannot control or pass a football
So sell him and be left with mr struggle to score a goal DCL and that other striker that Niasse must have locked in his locker Sandro as we haven't seen him for weeks. For us to comfortably sell the only striker that acually can put the ball in the net, we need 2 strikers in, will that happen in January? Who knows but Niasse should stay if it doesn't.

This is just simply untrue.

His positioning is really good, always has been, probably why he was known as lucky at Lokomotiv as he was always in the right place at the right time. That's not luck, that's ability.

As for not being able to control the ball, well his close control for Hull against Liverpool was tremendous as was his touch in the box against Bournemouth when Davies played him through and it was a lovely finish. His passing in the build up to a couple of goals he has been involved in this season has also been good.

The mistake from the keeper came from him being in the right place. If he is not there the mistake doesn't happen.

He can be very erratic, no doubt about that but he has traits (The ones I have mentioned) which raise him above being rubbish. Focus on his strong points because he does have them.

Well what's the answer then? I'd prefer goals.

well the answer isn't to play a lone striker who cannot pass, cross, hold up the ball, get involved and just score weird goals falling into the goal etc

as I said, he'd be a decent option from the bench but starting a game is just a big no. all his goals come from him being a nuisance not from being a good footballer

we need a proper striker

Add to that Rooney gets lauded for anticipating that the Keeper could make a mistake & got himself into a scoring position. At the very least, he's drawing a Defender when he's in the box & giving the Keeper something else to think about. Lukaku drew the best defenders even during his dry spells & whilst he's nowhere near Rom, defenders will know he can pop up & get a 'lucky' goal so...

Well i do agree we do need a decent striker, imo DCL doesn't offer enough, as I've said before he's a tidy player but that's about it. He needs time, for me Niasse for the time being is a good back up option if we need a goal. The whole issue is sorted if we get in a first choice striker in Jan, then I'm happy for DCL and Niasse as back ups, let's see what happens.
