Don’t understand why people are still on his back. He has scored goals, won us points and worked hard when others around him have shirked responsibility.

Take out he liverpool match when we barely had the ball in the opposition half and he was out of position, he has performed ok. Granted, he isn’t spectacular but he has done what has been asked and fought for the club unlike others on the pitch.

To be fair I don' think people are on his back they're just stating he' not really good enough if we want to be were he want to be? Don't you agree

He isn’t what we need to be where we want to be, I accept that. But he is what we have got because the top players do not want to join us. And Just from this page of the thread:

Dreadful player. Offers nothing. Should be in the Championship. Offload ASAP

Which in my eyes is on his back. I can go back a few pages and get plenty of posts saying he is terrible or not good enough for prem league. Someone who has scored 5 in so few minutes on the pitch is good enough for where we are in the table.

On his back

This kid cost £13m and can’t kick a ball 20 yards. He doesn’t even work as hard as people say (see the derby).

Any decent manager who isn’t trying desperately to save/get the job will quite rightly bomb him off but make no mistake the kid has had a free ride

Ok pal, convinced me there by using the liverpool match when he was out of position and we set up to camp in our own box. Can definitely use that match to judge him on.

Il just forget he scores goals. (You will say they are all tap ins and he has no real finishing ability but he has shown he can finish vs Bournemouth, and if they are all tap ins, who cares, his positioning is clearly good.) at least he is scoring goals (as many already as our 2nd highest scorer Last season, Barkley, scored all last season but off much much less time).

You seem to be forgetting (or maybe you just didn't notice) that his orders in the derby were clearly to stay out wide. That severely limited his normal amount of chasing (his best - maybe his only - quality).

Strikers like Naismith are judged on their ability to score goals. The strike rate from Niasse is far superior to Naismith's. Naismith managed to scored 18 goals in 103 games compared to Niasse's five goals in just 12 appearances.

I've double checked Niasse's stats and he's actually scored five goals in eight premiership appearances this season. What makes it impressive is that four of those appearances were made as a sub.

Niasse deserves more starts based on his goal scoring record.

I can't believe that some fans are running Niasse down so much, apart from the tough big games, I'd much prefer him up front than DCL, Yes DCL hold the ball up better but he doesn't score many and it's only because Rooney's got a few we have scored, nobody else really look like scoring often enough. Niasse has a good number of goals this season from not to much game time, also id much prefer playing with a faster direct player rather than holding the ball up, it's such a dull way of playing and we have been doing it for years now, I'm bored with it. More dynamic attacking style I'd much prefer.

We’ve played with a holding the ball up centre forward for years!?!? Are you messing?

Define "ability".

He takes up good positions, he plays the offside trap very well and he can both finish and hit the ball hard with accuracy.

But because he doesn't do any rabonas or rainbow flicks or whatever he is crap.

Players have strengths and weaknesses.

Yes that’s exactly why people think he’s crap because he doesn’t do Rabonas & Calvert-Lewin does loads.
