Don't know how we can judge him. Think he's touched the ball about twice in his Everton career (although one was that hilarious pass). Needs a proper preseason under his belt and a run of games before we can see what he's made of.

It's got to the point now though where it looks like Martinez is disguising how bad he is by playing him in cameos late on, but at least giving him the appearances so it doesn't look massively weird that he's not playing at all.

I think it's more likely that Roberto has simply lost the plot. There's little logic to anything at the moment.

See I agree you can't make a total judgement on a player with these brief cameos, but they usually show you a glimpse of something. Whether that's their hold up play, pace, strength, positioning, passing ability, work rate etc.

This lad has shown none of that and it's quite worrying. I'm also quite concerned after nearly 9 weeks of being here he's still not fit, with Martinez trying to clearly protect him in the media with this wrist injury. Journalists in Russia and the man himself cited how hard he works as one of his endearing qualities yet his substitute appearance at West Ham game he trundled around like he was playing with his kids in the back garden? At least yesterday he ran around, albeit giving it away and falling over at every opportunity.

I don't think anyone is writing him off at all, but the fact is he should be nowhere near the squad never mind the pitch at the moment.

Would explain why everton have cancelled the open training session rather than just move it to another day

He couldn't even get games for SK Brann when he was there a few years ago. He was that bad.

I don't know if he's going to adapt or not, but the worrying part about him is that he doesn't look like he has technical ability. Regardless of match fitness or not, a football should be able to control a ball, make a simple pass and be aware of players around him.

He'll no doubt have moments of brilliance but think the majority of his play will just be frustrating. An expensive yannick bolassie

He´s been regarded as one of the best players in the Russian league so that´s probably a bit over the top.

....I actually considered this yesterday, just after OUMAR went on that little...errrm...hmmmm.... 'run' I suppose you'd call it...are the cameo's a face-saving exercise for the benefit of both? It's prob unfair to judge on what we've seen (Is it or am I kidding myself here?) but, thing is, he's shown absolutely NOTHING has he?

He sold Naisy to sign Jarmolenko but we was f...ed like in the Moyes' days and Niasse was clearly a panic buy and a big risk.

Well we can't beat Utd or Wham, and Niasse is an unknown quantity, so I think we should play him as a lone striker in the FA Cup Semi and see what he can do. Break the news to Lukaku on the day and tell him he's dropped for being a 'press-chatting snide, yeah, we know what you did in Belgium..', and let Oumar wreak havoc.

As I've said before, it's hard if not impossible to judge Niasse yet based on the very little we've seen of him bar a few cameo performances.

However, it is almost comical that we're now sixty-four days down the line and he's still nowhere near ready to be given any decent role.
