Maybe they knew Bale was already going so they done they have done their business before he has gone so they don't get ripped off with prices.

If Madrid got Bale I can see a lot of players being unhappy there next season as they have far to many midfielders:

Casemiro

Don't think they really need Bale.

Madrid's money would be better spent on another striker as they will only have Benzema and some youngsters once Higuain leaves. I wouldn't be surprised if Ancelotti went in for Zlatan, with the money they get from Higuain and from selling Callejon and Albiol.

£26m for Soldado is ridiculous. Overpaying by around £10m at the least IMO.
