That being said it was lovely seeing such a loud crowd for what couldn't have been a less important game

The atmosphere was considerably better than i thought it would be. The fans that sing were a bit spread out unfortunately but wasn't too bad all in all. Crowd was 'officially' 35k (vs 36.5k capacity) but allowing for ST holders that were 'no-shows' it was probably more like 30-32k. Decent enough considering.

Still no official word on Lamela, Eriksen or Chirices (or Bale for that matter) yet & after the Willian fiasco i am starting to get a bit twitchy

Not sure about that. IF we have sold Bale & Adebayor come the end of the window, those two & along with Parker will save us £330pw (150, 100 & 80 resp). Dempsey wasn't on peanuts (60?), Hudd 40 & Caulker on 20ish.

A saving of £450pw give or take. Knowing Levy, our wage bill will probably be lower post-window (dependent on Adebayor being offloaded i suppose).

Joe Lewis (our ultimate owner) is the 9th richest person in Britain. Even so, im sure Levy knows what he is doing - the Bale deal must, in reality, have been concluded behind the scenes.
