Surely he looks at Paulinho, Sandro, Holtby, Dembele, Capoue and Sigurdsson and thinks 'there's a good chance I won't play every week if I go there'.

If Lamela is going to play with Soldado then they're not going to have more than four midfielders on the pitch at one time. Add Lennon, Townsend and Chadli to the mix and they'll have 10 players for 4 positions. It does seem like they're stockpiling without thinking how they'll use them.

There are going be some unhappy players at Spurs this year. Can see Holtby/Townsend/Sigurdsson leaving on loan. They can't expect to be playing week in week out with the quality ahead of them.

Also while Spurs have bought some good players, I wouldn't say they've bought anyone world class. They got a great squad but are they title contenders? Idk maybe with a manager like Mourinho they would be. Can see the top 3 being very tight between City, Chelsea, and Spurs.
 
Some good points made there. IMO - Lennon will be sold and there are actually some murmmerings that Siggy is to go out on loan (doesn't want to merely be a squad payer apparently). Think Townsend will stay.

Chirices flew into Heathrow last night for a medical - like a lot of CHs he has a back problem so I'm not sure the medical is a foregone conclusion personally.

Halliovic (excuse spelling) - the nuts and bolts are agreed but his Dad wants first team football assurances. Won't get them.
 
There needs to be some kind of squad limit. It really isn't fair how certain clubs are pretty much stockpiling and hoarding players. I know i sound like a whiny shiit and that if EFC could do it I wouldn't really complain, but its really not right.
 
the past 2 years.. Spurs have sold Modric, Van Der Vaart and Bale. Replaced with Eriksen, Lamela and Paulinho.

That to me is a huge downgrade, but some how people think they are title challengers?? Their first eleven today is worse than 2 years ago under Redknapp.

Either the Prem has gone completely ****, or people are getting all misty eyed by expensive foreign signings.

Bale wasn't as good under Redknapp as we is now.
Vdv has lost it, was a good sale when it happened.
Modric unfortunate.

But yes at their best those 3 are impossible to sell.

But Spurs with Erikson, Lamela and Paulinho at their best (lets assume they reach their potential) is a very very fine team.
