Other Clubs Transfer Window 2026-2027

there is every chance he is worth 3 times that in 2 years though. them and brentford have a irritating habit of unearthing gems we never seem capable of

Would Everton fans accept the model these clubs run on though? Everytime they strike gold they the sell and start again.

Trophies won - nada, although Brighton should win the conference next season..

These clubs get away with it because the fanbase know no better - this is the most successful period in their histories and they have small fan bases

That’s not the model though. Unless you are Real Madrid every club sells players, you have to so that you can abide with the rules. The model those clubs have is basically using data and analytics of the team to identify potential signings, it involves taking risks that others won't because the data says it will come good over time

Yes but Everton are a club (in the fans eyes anyway) that once a gem is found - try to build round it regardless of who makes an offer.

That’s not what Brighton or Bournemouth/Brentford do, they buy to sell

When have Everton ever built around a gem? Everything at this club for years has been short term thinking and unless you're Real Madrid every club sells to buy. It's more a case of our fans ego being bruised because they don't like being made to look silly by much smaller clubs.

not sure on that. Been unlucky with the teams next season.

Monaco
Atalanta
Freiburg
Ajax
Braga

not a slam dunk for them

brighton spending 25-35 mil on obscure teenagers no one has ever heard of is a bit of a dangerous model to use but given that chelsea basically gave them 500 mil for so many of their players they can afford to do so

although its ironic that we spent 35 mil on a teenager and never played him

Brighton and Brentford just have amazing data analysis - Tony Bloom owns Hearts now as well and nearly won the SPL with them very quickly.

What also massively works for them is that they will only hire managers that can work with the existing squad rather than wholesale changes when the current incumbent either faaacks off or is faaacked off.

Spurs and Everton certainly do not do the latter
