Sad to see Kane go

A brilliant player that people seem to downgrade because he didn't win trophies

Absolutely nothing to do with his talent or his efforts
Glad!

take his play acting chitbaggery Roy Hattersley spectacle, and get to funk! a curse on him and a pox on his hangers on.

He's going to one of the biggest clubs in world football, not the Gulag.

Now he is expected and obliged to win trophies - not hope to make a cup final in a year ending in one.

He is finally out of his comfort zone. No longer can his admirers point the finger at his team-mates, Daniel Levy, "Spursiness", or the Arabs. With a European Championship being held in his new home country in 10 months time, Kane is making the move an ambitious player with designs on club and international titles would make. In other words, our boy has grown up.

Great players don't have to win trophies and titles to be great players. But they do have to give themselves the chance to. He's doing that now. And, as an Irishman living in Germany, who made the move 7 years ago, it's Germany, not Mars. Culture shocks don't come much milder than this. He'll be a great ambassador for England.

I was amazed - not that I should be at this stage - at some of the frankly bizarre punditry from some quarters about Kane's proposed move to Bayern this week. One who stood out was Michael Owen, who totally dismissed the idea of going to Bayern - "I could understand if it was Real Madrid" - and informed his followers that breaking the "Premier League record" was more important.

Then I switched on Sky Deutschland last night to watch the Premier League feed, and who was on presenting duties for Premier League TV? Michael Owen. They don't even try to hide the conflicts of interest these days...

They are terrified at the damage Kane's departure does to "the product." The Saudis have rattled them...

It's a massive blow to the brand

With Caicedo moving that means Brighton have lost him, macalister, and Bissouma in the last couple of seasons. That is quite a midfield trio to have gone, and they still look the business
