All politicians have to take regular lie detector tests & criminally charged if caught lying. All voters have to pass a short exam before voting so they actually have a baseline understanding of what it is they are voting for & crucially what you are not voting for.

The pubs were still open, and I think also the bookies, and someone's had to work em. Technically the padre was at work as well.Everyone should be entitled to a good Sunday off, a real day of rest from the grind. Shut everything! I know the pure economics of this makes it impossible but I still remember growing up just how chilled those Sundays seemed, the concept probably seems so alien to many generations now.

The sentiment is lovely, but I don’t think you’ve thought this through mate. Emergency services, NHS, care providers, hospitality, newsagents, taxi drivers etc …. But apart from them, and probably a few more, that’s a great ideaEveryone should be entitled to a good Sunday off, a real day of rest from the grind. Shut everything!
