Great post! Lets get a firing squad to the board. Fifth place...there having a laugh arent they? Bring back the glory days of the 90's and the superstars of the last 15 years I say.

The trouble with people like you is you think you know whats going on, your a product of an age where sitting online all day listening to conspiracy theorists warps your sensibilities to the point where you actually believe your in the loop. News flash. Your not. Im sure there are good reasons why people do what they do. The board have a job to do and if they dont do it, then we'll have something to moan about. If we didnt make Europe, would you blame the board? Marketing? What are you on about? A good team playing good football and winning things is the whole freaking idea about marketing! You wanna sell Everton? On what grounds? Past successes? You gotta build a team just like you gotta build a marketing plan. So you cant find Everton merchandise in Liverpool? Thats aload of garbage because if I can buy an Everton shirt halfway across the world, you can definatley buy it in Liverpool. Look at us Asia! We came fifth! Follow our Team, Americans! We arent as good as Manure or have the superstars of Chelsea but here we are! We did ok in the other European competition!

Your right that its a tenuous time for our club, but we should be embracing the fact we are on the up as a team, and not slandering and moaning about who we havent signed. Im sure we'll sign someone. Im sure we'll sign a few players. The very fact that now were at least looking at the Arshavins and the Moutinhos when we were looking at the Kilbanes and the Kroldrups is lost on you. Im sure since we all have cameras watching the board and hear what Johnny's uncle who knows the janitor at Finch Farm has to say about affairs we should all rise up and make the big decisions.

We are lucky not to be plying our trade in the Championship after the tripe weve been served in my lifetime. But now, theres little rays of hope and stability, where there was just darkness. If some multi billionare sweep us off our feet and injects us with hot mazooma, at least we have a good solid foundation on which to progress. If not, we will keep on plugging away, commending the team on how weve done with such little resources.

And every now and then, sure some people will throw their toys out of the pram sighting the toys the rich kids have to play with, but thats life. Get over it pal.

100% correct from first to last.

Well said.

Excellent optmistic rant but it doesn't acknowledge we have significant debts after selling off virtually all assets, this being despite record tv money increases that are nothing to do with the board.

*optimistic

get you after 4 posts!!!

kipper... next.

i like you already! welcome to GOT!

Cheers mate.

I thought I'd try a change of scene. Had enough of the nonsense on Kipper and the (deranged) Peoples forum.

Can't be arsed with all this doom and gloom mongering.

What pisses me off the most about all of this is,,,,,,,dare I say it again.......The ambition of the club. I run for cover..........Despite what some think, I do really try to be optimistic, but the club just dont give me ( us ) much to be optimistic about going forward. Finishing 5th was last season and it was FANTASTIC and as we all agree, was a great foundation to build on. We dont appear to be building upon it. We could have really set the standard for next season to show our intent to the others, ( Spurs , Villa, Pompey, City, etc ) with two or three great signings, err, Moyes maybe being No.1.......But with the new season less than a month away, weve shown NO intent, no superiority, no nothing. I feel even if we sign a few decent lads before the start, the momentum may have been lost already, when we could have shown that intent and been seen as serious contenders to challenge the top four. It just seems to me that our ambition doesnt extend beyond scraping a Eufa place ( and that has taken the board by surprise......several times......).......hey and I didnt even mention the other points !!!!!........well im on me hols........xxxxx

So what you are saying is you wanted the club to go out as soon as the transfer window opened ad blow all the money on players which may not be right on for the club. Spurs do that a lot. Instead moyes is taking his time and i fully believe he has identified the players he wants and i am sure the club is woking hard to get them. As for showing no intent, no superiority, no nothing. As you must have seen from press reports we have made a bid for moutinho who is regarded as one of europe's finest talents. Large cry from the past targets ie koumas. I understand your frustration at the lack of activity howver lets please wait until the season starts and see where we stand then. If when the season starts and we still have not signed anyone then i will be the first in the cue to vent my anger however lets please be patient see what happens in the next 3 weeks as for the first time in a long time the club has the potential to go places and it needs everyone in the club including us loyal and knowlegdeable supporters to stick together and support the club (hence term supporters) and stay positive and believe in the people incharge at the club.

What kind of ambition will it show if we sign Moutinho?

I do think that not having the new signings (please let there be some:P) on board in time for the trip to the US, is poor planning. However, I'm pretty sure that this is entirely due to the delay in the Stadium decision, so it's difficult to apportion any blame to Davey.

Would have been nice had the board had some contingency in place though:unsure:
