Have they not confirmed by leaving players behind that they have already thrown the towel in as far as the Europa is concerned?

Possibly..... the "alternate facts" though could be that playing Rooney, Jags and Baines in the past three Europa games has done eff all good so why not go with something different? Not a bad move, if it comes off, Unsworth looks like a genius and we're still in with a shout of getting out of the group.

Also I think it's an admission from Unsworth that Watford at home on Sunday is now a huge game; hence why he is resting players. Win it and at least we're going in the right direction on the table, the players get some confidence up and hopefully we can go on a little run of picking up some points. If we lose to Watford at home...... it'll test the mettle of those of us fans who are not panicking about our league position just yet.

Who have they left behind??

Michael Keane (still recovering)
Wayne Rooney
Leighton Baines
Phil Jagielka

It was confirmed yesterday that Ashley Williams will captain the side and that U23 centre back Morgan Feeney has travelled with the squad, but any involvement would be from the subs' bench.

Wft is actually going on with our club... we always seem to operate like no other club I have ever seen... and not in a good way..

Moyes resigning players
Kloudrup
Fortress fund
Phantom bids
Signing players that ever made an appearance
Selling to loan
Chairman live on tv talking to him white
Chairman on coronation st

Does my head in...

I remember when Moyes put out a joke of a team in the Europa just to make a point to the board

Now we are basically giving up on Europa now

We are a joke ... and it all starts at the top

Soooo who is going to play left back?

If I had to guess the starting eleven, I'd go with:

GK: Pickford
RB: Kenny
LB: Martina
CB: Holgate
CB: Williams (c)
DM: Baningime
CM: Davies
CM: Gueye
RW: Vlasic
LW: Lookman
CF: Sandro

Agree. Panic is extreme, but this team could go down, playing as it is with the personnel we have.

With Bolasie, Barkley and Coleman back we have a sniff. From mid Feb, we play only two teams in the top 7 from 12 games. That's a lot of points on the table with closer to our A team available.

Board needs to be strong and bag a striker at Christmas, maybe a loan deal for CB and better left sided options than Baines/Mirallas.

Need to admit summer signing errors, play Rooney less, and Klassen, McCarthy, Besic all leave to resign cleverly* who's been sensational.

*Ok only kidding about cleverly.
