Sticking to the OP players name theme , there was one I sang in the Street End , but cant seem to remember the middle part only the ending ?

Davey , Davey Johnson ..................... Girls :dodgy:

Any from the 1940s/50s allez mate?;)lol
The two I remember most being sung around the house by my dad were:
Ey, Aye Sandy scored the goal, Sandy scored the goal, Sandy scored the goal
Ey, Aye, Sandy scored the goal
That won the cup for Evertoooooon!

Obviously that refers to the 1906 Cup win but I have no idea how widespread it was or when it started, just that my dad used to sing it around the house when I was a kid, early to mid 60s.

The other one he sang a lot was:

Play up Everton, you're noted everywhere
Knock old Liverpool flying through the air.
If they ask for mercy, we've got none to spare
So play up Everton you're noted everywhere.
Also...
"When it's Spring again we'll bring again Ajax from Amsterdam"

Laughing at Ajax beating the RS in a European tournament. Can't remember the full details.

Those were the days my friend
We took the Stretford end
We took the shed, the north bank Highbury,
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose,
We were the boys...of Everton FC.

Used to to bang this one out when I was about 10 or 11 in the GSE, with my dad standing next to me laughing his head off.

They beat them 5-1 in holland...5 lucky offside goals said shankly
Then saw them off 2-2 on one of those wunderfull nites
I got given a ticket by a rs who at 1-5 down didnt fancy it.
The rs huffed and puffed to scraped a draw

Oh Everton, oh we love Everton, oh Everton, oh we love Everton.
And we love our Georgie Wood, and we love our Georgie Wood, Georgie Wood, Georgie Wood, Georgie Wood, Georgie Wood,
Oh Everton, oh we love Everton, oh Everton oh we love Everton
And so on through the whole team.

Yep I remember that - the best noise I felt was the away Kop at Wolves - I was there one time and two teenage blues had somehow got an old steel barrel in there with two big wooden sticks starting the chants of we had thousands there most times in that end - great days for singing as we won there quite a lot ......
