The old Central station in Liverpool being demolished -
A palm house was erected in the Birkenhead Park. It was severely damaged during the 1941 Blitz and eventually demolished in 1947.
Because I would rather not do the tasks I'm supposed to be doing, I decided to look for that road. Using Eggs' Beacon Lane (which is now a crescent coming off St Domingo Rd) and Robson St, I used a map from 1927 to find that Beacon Lane used to head all they way to Robson and create, what looks like, a horrible junction with Breck Road. A little south of that I found Jeffrey St
Thank you. A lot has changed in that area - some due to the war and some the planners.
…well done, pretty much where I thought it was. I know Robson St and Beacon Lane from my days at John Hamilton School.
