If I may add one further area to the list:

CHILDWALL - Childwall's history includes its mention in the Domesday Book (1086) as "Cildeuuelle," meaning "a stream where youngsters meet," and its evolution from a rural area to a suburb of Liverpool. The area was initially part of the West Derby Hundred and later an urban district before being annexed by Liverpool in 1913. Significant landmarks include All Saints' Church, the oldest church in Liverpool.
 
I was going to Gwladys St then and the groundsmen let a few of us help take the straw off the pitch.
That was a really bad winter - I watched a documentary on it - Believe it or not if we had not had coal/coke fired steam trains as we had back then this country would have been in big trouble as all the diesel fuelled trains the fuel froze solid - it was that cold & the snow never seemed to stop - I fel it would have stopped overhead electric powered trains too......

….but it never stopped us playing footy in the street.
