So much amazing architecture ruined then. The old Royal Hospital flattened for the nondescript replacement.

Do you mean the Royal Infirmary ? It’s now part of the University of Liverpool - The Foresight Centre.

….Britains first submarine, the Resurgam built in Birkenhead and launched on 26th Nov 1879;
Derby Street Huyton Quarry - Tushinghams brickwork Lorries drove up that street hence the unadopted road /street I lived there from a baby in 1955 to 1966 - 2 up 2 down a family of five - outside toilet & a tin bath on the wall - a great community of people ... all those houses demolished now bar the posh 3 old Tushinghams houses at the bottom of the street opposite the demolished Brickworks - the only three streets in Huyton at the time - the rest were all roads ....
….i suppose the odd place does improve with time;

Yes the Albert Dock restoration has been magnificent.
Shame so many of our beautiful old buildings were bulldozed instead.
