in 1994 legendary blues forward Joe Royle returned to Everton and took charge of his first game as Everton manager against Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby. - Going into the game Everton were rock bottom of the league with one 1 win in their last 16 games, Duncan Ferguson scored his first Everton goal with a superb header and Paul Rideout finished the game off in the 89th minute.
