Yes it won in two races a basic horse- Bally & the GV shared a class horse & won nothing just stable bills & large vet bills had to sell it at a loss - Labbys wife's horse came up trumps they were mystified

Goodison (the horse) is one of my favorite facts about Labby. Didnt know about Bally and GV tho

….Alan Ball loved his racing, I saw him when I went to a meeting at Newmarket’s July course. He was standing alone on the lawns looking out onto the course so I went over and said hello and thanks for the memories.

The bookie who takes the bets always wins if you become addicted to put bets on every week or day you get odds for favorites very low & big odds for outsiders - Labby's won at 14 -1 so if you put a English £1 on it to win you would get £14 plus your pound stake back if it won -

Labby's horse was running at a meeting & on an away game Westy collected all the bets for the players on the coach it came in as the winner at 14 to 1 - Westy went around every one bar the manager Harry Catterick & the trainer Wilf Dixon - he asked to got to the toilet on the way & again when the spotted a bookies he had put all the bets on Labby's horse named Goodison - he came back beaming with a hat full of money _ The Catt was not amused - Labby shouted down to him as he was at the front of the coach with the trainer - you get more wages than us anyway !
