….all you need to know about Roy Vernon is 101 goals in 176 games. In any era that’s a phenomenal return, I suggest the best of any Everton player. He’s got to be an all time great.

The GV stated only player he knew who could smoke having a shower a chain smoker - lightning fast over 12 yard the GV stated only for his 100 cigarette's per day - he would have been ahead of Graves & Law - he was that good.....
