3rd January 1970. Everton midfielder Alan Ball sends Sheffield United goalkeeper Alan Hodgkinson the wrong way from the penalty spot, but the Blades had the last laugh winning 2-1 in the FA Cup 3rd Round, at Bramall Lane - I was there sadly a 3 sided ground back then a cricket pitch on one side -- Woodward and Terry Curran blew us away in the 2nd half - why the catt never signed one of thpose two in the future I will never know -

The prolific Royston Vernon he used to state - There's jimmy greaves , Dennis Law then me - If he had not been fetched up on woodbines to become a chain smoker, he may have been top dog over as over 12 yards it was stated there was no one faster, and more skilful - he had a thunderous shot with no backlift - I only saw him once or twice nothing of him, but he was the snide in our team who supplied the GV with some goals, yet he was leading scorer for three seasons - for @roy vernon & co -

7th May 1963 Roy Vernon scores from the penalty spot against West Brom keeper Ray Potter during a 4-0 victory read his book the Red Dragon he missed only one pen out of 30 odd, he hit them hard and mostly low like a bullet into the corner of the net!
He was sometimes that cocky he pointed to the opposing Keeper which corner it was going, and it still went in - the missed one away at Spurs he suffered the ball .....- It's a great read grab a copy only 1000 to be first published - for @roy vernon & co -
