Has to be 1957 I think -Peter finished and Derek Temple started that year.

Everton played Rovers every year from about 1966 to 1972 in pre-season.

Didn't do them any harm either - better results followed than we get these days after jollies to the States and Australia etc

Everton goalkeeper focus: George Burnett.
A wartime deputy for Ted Sagar, George went on to make 54 peacetime appearances for the Blues. He also played for the club’s baseball team. Later at Oldham Athletic, when the Toffees beat them 4-0 to secure promotion in 1954.

Another no 9 flop, signed by the Catt - with a young promising David Johnson exchange to Ipswich plus we paid a chunk of money for Rod - I think he lasted 11 games - the biggest mistake was letting David Johnson swap deal for him -
