For @LinekersLegs - Gary Lineker. Forward. Age 24 (until 30 Nov ’85). Born Leicester. This deadly finisher was bought from Leicester City in the summer of 1985 in a £800,000 deal. Gary followed up as top scorer in Division One during 1985/86, scoring an outstanding 30 League goals in his only season with the Toffeemen. These included hat-tricks against Birmingham, Manchester City and Southampton. In addition, he hit seven goals in cup competitions -

And he missed a one-on-one absolute sitter away at Oxford with 10 minutes to go when the score was 0-0. Score that, win the game, and we win the title. We lost 1-0 with a late Oxford goal...
