A true gentleman, honest,self deprecating,gave credit to the opposition when he was defeated, a proper football man, and for once I am not talking about HK,Joe Fagan was one of the few kopites I actually had a lot of time for.

….as a schoolboy I started to have hamstring and quad muscle injuries, Joe invited me to Anfield at lunch times to give me treatment. As you can imagine, I was never stuck for a lift from teachers. As you say, Joe Fagan was very humble and a proper gentleman.

Now that was a squad. Too goalkeeper.. Solid defence. Majestic midfield. And two top wingers. And two decent goalscorers. Top team. Great stuff....
