The Cannonball Kid - Dave Hickson. Played for Everton, Liverpool and Tranmere after starting his career at Ellesmere Port. His famous quote is shown in the picture. He was appointed by Everton to do the stadium tours, which is where I met him. A true gentleman -

Ha ha great picture and great memories of an epic night in Tangerines history. Sir Jim, Hutch, John Craven, Alan Suddick each and every one on the pic heroes. Look at that collective ecstacy

Don't believe that no champers story. In the dressing room while the picture was taken maybe but soon afterwards a very different story. Fred must have had that ciggie habit passed on to him by Vernon when at the Toffees. Or maybe at Rovers lol
