That was the last cup tie I missed 'till 1968. I was staying in Blackpool the week before the semi and United were staying there also. I sat in the cinema behind Law and Charlton and tried to "tap them up" for a semi ticket as I had not got one from Goodison but to no avail.

Dave Thommo always played with his head up. Always looked for Latch, could cross accurately with left and right. Be worth a mint in todays game.

Brilliant pic. Thats the 1st game of the season 77/8. Where we battered Forest for large parts, but John Robertson was having one of those days, he was superb. Jim Pearson scored our goal in the park end. A 3-1 defeat to the Champions elect. But we had a good season ourselves, finishing 3rd.

Murder that day.
There's a little clip on the forest film miracles of the game,goodison looked a bear pit.
