For @Alanbileysfeathercut - he would be useful in our squad now -

iUri Geller would be useful in our squad also....See if he really does have any special powers. Saw Biley play a few times. Didn't think that he was great for us. Although tbh that early 1980s team was not great. But as we all know........better times were just around the corner...

Aberdeen was always his club. Think he must be their all-time record goalscorer. Slightly blemished his record when at Everton. I really did ,back in the day think that Joe Harper would be good for us. But he came into what proved to be a poor Everton squad. We ,after 1970 should have been on the crest of a wave. Where did it all go wrong????

Just had I quick check on this May 1964 tour. Results wise a very successful tour. Played 8. Won 8. Scored in total 50 goals. Conceded 7.
Think that Everton won this match 8-2.
Those were the days..........we actually won football matches. Maybe we should apply to play in the Australian league.
Do you remember the Australian Football pools in our summerlol

Yep.....I did the pools back then. We had a guy in my local who collected all the coupons. And sent them in. I tried to study the English and Scottish matches. Got the odd draw. Had 23 points one week. But so did half the country.
As for the Australian football , it was birthdays and door numbers. And hope for the best.
I'm rambling now , but I do remember some crazy results in the Australian games. One match that I had down for a draw, ended 14-0. I also remember 6-6 and 7-7 draws.
Notice now that Australian football results are not that crazy. They have learnt how to defend better.

really liked this guy. He is a player that i really wish that we had nowadays.
I had a cousin that was on Burnleys books for a couple of years. Only managed to play in the old central league. But he always said that in his time there, that the two players that were in his opinion head and shoulders above everyone else , were Martin Dobson and A young Leighton James.
The cousin said that Dobson was a maestro. A rolls Royce of a footballer........ Good enough for me.

Loved Dobbo, what a calm, elegant, composed player he was.
