Former Everton winger Dave Thomas was born. Signed from QPR for £200,000 in 1977. With his socks rolled down, he flew down the wing to provide many chances for Everton forwards, especially Bob Latchford. Dave only stayed for just over 2 years, scoring 6 in 84 games.
