Something to do with the company that made the sign ?

Had the same conversation with a mate earlier (it says 1929 doesn't it?) because obviously the stand was built before 1929. Was it to mark 50 years since the name change from St Domingo? I don't know though.

At the top of this photo it says Everton 1829 on the badge.
I’ve asked my dad, who’s in the photo somewhere and he dosent know why 1829 ?

Someone mentioned above that it's 1929. St. Domingo became Everton in 1879, so it would have been the Golden Jubilee of the re - named club.

Dunno if I'm right but it's a plausible theory.
