In 1983 appearances for Everton, Mark Higgins only scored 6 goals. 2 of them came in one game - 1981, the big defender got a brace as the Toffees beat Coventry City 3-2 at Goodison Park. All 5 goals were in the first half. Graeme Sharp got the home side's winner.

Just to say that he was a fine player Colin Bell. Interesting footnote was that Bell was looked upon by the Blackpool recruitment team to be a decent replacement for Bally, who was thought to be off inevitably, and offered Bury around 40k for him. City came in with a counter bid of 45k and off he went there. Bell for Ball but not to be.
