The young alan ball reckons this was the first player to guide his skills on Bryan Douglas, then Jimmy greaves, and Denis Law - the guy below an England international had a market stall in 1981 with his sign up at Clitheroe Market selling tools etc how times have changed!

A Grenyer at the back - many years ago at work, a woman there told me that he was her husband's great grandfather! She knew of him being an old Everton player from that time didn't know the name, so I brought in a book with this photo in it and she recognised the name!

Was it 25/3/72 v Wolves. Ended up 2-2...Bernie Wright there with Howie. France were away v Wales that day. I couldve taken that photo...was in our speck in The Street ! Wish I was that kid again.

Well done mate it must be that, especially France having final score of 6 points. 2pm kick offs for the rugby then meant scores were passed on at the footy while game not finished.
Yep, occasionally nostalgic for many things being a Blue then although in that two year period to see the ace 1969-70 team fade away player by player was terrible!

Yep honestly listed as Johnny Haynes - seriously one poster was having a right go on posters of pics on here listing wrong named players - this is a perfect example of how reporters on the day misprinted names wrong!
