Thanks it is a cracking pic, not surprised that yank was blown away by the pic their history only goes back about 250yrs, they were only just coming out of the wild west period in 1911.

.....so Goodison Rd is on the left of the picture. Not sure when the Church was built but there can't be many views of that corner of the ground without it on.

1906: The Memorial Chapel was dedicated

1907: The St Luke’s Mothers’ Union was formed

1908: The foundation stone for the Parish Hall was laid

1912 The completion of the Parish Hall.

I find it strange that they decided to build a church so close to a football ground unless the footprint of the ground has changed since that 1892 image. I'm not a church goer more of an atheist but the proximity of the church to the ground is one of the things I'd miss if we relocated it brings a sense of uniqueness to the ground
