Have read up on this case......the old school tie brigade that ran the fa did for Kay.
they gave him the life ban. The prison sentence should have been enough.... A disgrace imo.....
But just one question.........Kay was 28(I believe) when the ban was lifted. Was there any reason why he didn't resume his playing career. Because I think most players banned did resume playing. Swann did. Playing until about 1974 (I believe)......
Kay was banned aged 27, Initially for life, but recinded after 8yrs.
He did (ilegally) play in the Roger Hunt testimonial and was joint MotM
But by the time the ban was lifted it was more or less too late .
 

1960 Frank Wignall - hard competition, so he was sold on even though scoring a bit for us - he got his vengeance on us playing for Notts Forest in 1967 1/4 final where he gave Labby and Hursty a torrid time in a 3-2 defeat = Everton that......
