I was in Blackpool on holiday the week leading to this Semi, as were all the United players. I sat behind Law and Charlton in the cinema and tried to chat them up for tickets but to no avail. This game was the last cup tie I failed to attend for sixteen years before I left Liverpool.
 
I think that's my hero Fred Pickering partly hidden by the post as Temple scores his second of the afternoon. As I and many others are likely to spend up to four months in solitary confinement (if you believe the papers) with no football on TV please keep these photos coming.

...Pickering had an amazing goal scoring record (56 in 97 games). He probably gets overlooked in considering our finest strikers of the Post-war era. Even if 100 games is a minimum requirement, Fred’s record is some achievement. 5 goals in just 3 games for England as well.
