...I was up at the Old Firm game at Ibrox last December and I noticed a picture of him in the match programme. Still fondly remembered at Rangers as well as Everton which is nice.

Jimmy Armfield and the White Pele at Blackpool September 1970.

Two thorough professionals who played the game in the right way. I knew someone who knew Jimmy well, he said Armfield said to him ‘ I love going to Goodison and Anfield , love Scousers in general but lots of them can dish it out ( verbally) but can’t take it back, I think there is a lot of truth in that.

...I knew him a bit in the early 70s, always a nice bloke in my dealings with him.
