I think this may be Higgins second goal of the game against Coventry in Dec 1981 but the photo I have is from a different angle. Are you able to confirm ?

I thought Accrington were essentially the same club as Accrington Stanley today? Maybe not legally as they folded twice, but they weren't reformed by fans of the previous Accrington? So a bit like Darlington or Aldershot, recent clubs who have folded, and then reformed?

Accrington were like all the North west clubs at that time , but not as successful - the teams like Bolton , Blackburn,Burnley and Preston all had one thing in common right up till the 1970;s they were backed by big mill owners financially -Everton in fact were founder members of the Football league without going to the registration meeting to make it a 12 team division ......
