When I played in the Yorkshire League there were several 'three sided' grounds. Worksop Town, Ossett Allbion and Sheffield Club spring to mind. Also Eastbourne United who we once played in the FA Amateur Cup. Always Cricket pitches (except Eastbourne which was a hockey pitch) used to hate them.

Marine in merseyside have a 3 sided ground houses are boxed in all around iron one side the touch line is backed on to houses they may have made it into the lower regions of the football league due to this problem...
Morcombe gained promotion coming 2nd when Marine won the title To go into the old conference league they went on to become a league side - how the FA in those early days accepted 3 sided ground s at a high level was a mystery.....
