I seen most rounds of the Everton Youth team youth cup run, in 1965 at Goodison the only home game I missed was the final just looked it was a Monday night - my older brother who kindly took me must have been working late on that Monday evening - doh who would have thought John hurst and Jimmy Husband I would be watching 4 years later in the first team winning the Championship - they played great football with big gates for a youth team at Goodison park.....

Everton 0 Gillingham 0 in Jan 1984 at Goodison Park. The underdogs nearly score at Everton in the FA Cup 4th Round. -

..I have it in my mind that Steve Bruce was in that Gillingham side.

I was fuming that I missed the final - it may have been the semi final that there was a sudden Crosville bus strike on while the game was going on and my brother got me home late after a long walk and detour for a corporation bus - with School the next day and strict parents who knows , but so mad to miss that final seeing all the home games in that youth cup run in....
