Well what a weekend, it certainly made this old blue extremely happy in fact I can honestly say I have not been more proud of my club since our last championship win, that includes the FA cup win. My happiness is underscored not just by the measure of our victory but also by the method in which it was achieved, that camaraderie between players, the relationship of each with their manager and the total ecstasy displayed on the faces of all those supporters who at long last can see a new dawn that will mean something to our club, a future no one dared hope for some 5 short years ago. Everton FC are again on course to become a force in the English game, players who believe, fans who will cheer them on no matter and a backroom structure that is producing talent, I could die happy in this knowledge. I looked at an match programme from just two years ago, we have changed 12 of the 21 players featured in that days sponsorship lists, a quiet but effective revolution by a manager who has gone about things in the right way

The weekend coverage in the media of our 7 – 1 victory has been what you would expect, take it from me as an old blue it has been the same down the years. When we won the titles in the 60’s it was said that we bought them because of John Moores millions, he actually invested very little in the club nowadays barely sufficient to keep a non-league team afloat. Yesterday we never beat Sunderland they gave in, their international centre half was crap, Uniteds defeat by Bolton was far more important as far as they are concerned: don’t expect anything else from those guys and you will not be disappointed. In actual fact SAF clash with a certain less than respected referee has carried more news time than our win. We are blues, be happy and content with that, we will make our own news.

I had a tear in my eye last night seeing the actions of our players supporting each other, high fives when substituted, those smiling delirious fans brought back days of yore. One idiot on Sky suggested that we went route one for two goals, he had been a member of that famous route one team the now defunct Wimbledon, because EFC used it its no good, he totally over looked the quality of some of our inter-passing, running off the ball and all round footballing ability, as I said idiot.

Yesterday brought to mind all those happy days when we played football to be proud of, the standard shown by this team was better than the seven and eight goals we blasted into Southampton’s net in years gone by. Roy Keane doesn’t field a team of quitters, its not in his nature and its also insults our standard of play

I might not be posting much on this forum for the foreseeable future but you can rest assured that this Blue will one smug old sod with a beaming grin of confidence all over his face. Please don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying we will win the league or such like but, what I saw yesterday screams one thing, THE FUTURE IS BLUE, THE FUTURE IS EVERTON and all you youngsters have so much to look forward to.

Back with a bang mate, as usual i agree and applaud all of the above! The boys played like that for you mate just to give the oul thicker a breather!

Hope your well!

Thanks my old son and I'm glad all is well with you. I've got to go as I've broken curfew and the search beams are looking for me:lol:

Good to hear from our own Legendary Old Fart!

With games like this weekend, it is hard not to keep the spirits up, eh? (y)

Thanks for all the nice comments lads, my computer is on the blink so if I go missing again it will be Digsy's fault and not the tickers, at least thats the plan:lol:

I'm viewing this with only 16 bit graphics, that'll give you an idea of what's going on............roll on Christmas!

Nice to hear from you Monty. Certainly nice to see the net bulging 7 times. About a certain player's complaint, rubbish, no such thing as a bad goal unless you are defending. And all goals count does not matter how they are scored and last weekend did wonders for our GD.

Can't recall so many in one league match since I think, Southhampton decades ago.

We beat them 7-1 back in '96, i also remember us beating them 8-0 in the 70's.
