Y'see, even something as simple as a username change raises all manner of complications. Who's up for a revolution? *gets pitchfork* (this has nothing to do with catching Cromwell on BBC yesterday afternoon).

theres unruleness in stadiums in the states arent there tx, even without away supporters, and i saw a thing about the "other" team in san. francisco who apparently are a right angry mob.

If, by Political Correctness people mean:

- treating others with respect

- thinking before we speak so that we do not give offence

- being aware of the impact of what we say and do on others

then the world needs political correctness more than it needs penicillin. Many of our ills are born of a lack of empathy for anothers feelings.

Renaming Christmas 'winterval' seems crazy as we're a broadly Christian country which seems happy to let people of other faiths celebrate Ramadan, Diwhali, Hanukah etc without expecting these festivities to be renamed. (Most followers of Islam must think we're bonkers renaming a celebration).

It's also crackers to be advised (as I have been) not to ask for black coffee as it might offend someone.

But these mad aberrations do not make the fundamental desire to avoid offence anything less than laudable. I'm a fan of being what gets disdainfully called 'pc'

All eyes on jonathan ross on friday night then, im sure for those that look hard enough they can find something to scream about. But thats the point isn't it, providing ammunition for the flavour of the months.

I totally agree with this. It is up to us all not to give offence by thinking of others. However there seems to be a movement for taking offense, usually on behalf of others, which is now getting out of hand. Being asked not to order black coffee as it may cause offence is a new one to me but sadly not suprising. This sort of over the top behaviour by people is eroding the principals of PC.

To be honest I get fed up being told "You cant say that Granddad" it appears everything we where taught in school is now wrong no blackboard ,no black sheep ect .I hate racisim but who would be offended by these words .I by the way can still be called a fat baldy [Poor language removed] its not unlawful mind you its true anyway:lol::lol:
