Obviously that's true but there's much less risk in buying players on an upward trajectory than a downward one. If/when all these players dip or get injured we have to have decent replacements ready to go. Given that our resources are not limitless it just doesn't seem like good strategy. It's short term thinking.
It's true that a lot of the senior players are still at a good age. The issue is that they're decidedly average/garbage.True, but on the whole I’ve been supporting Everton with next to no money and having to gamble on youngsters to grow into the players we hoped they would. That won us nothing.
In my opinion we have a pretty good balance of youth and experience, but we need more depth in certain positions
