NUFC aka The Horse Punchers

Other thread is locked so here’s a new one (@mods please merge if deemed appropriate)

Issac absent from pre season tour and wants out.

On the one hand I find this hilarious, The Richest Club In the World ™️ can’t keep hold of their best players, and the self important horse punchers are getting a reality check on their true status in the pecking order.

Then I’m horrified at what they might do with the money they’ll be making from the sale.

Then the scenario reminds me just how bent the football world is in ensuring no one can challenge the status quo other than in exceptional circumstances (Leicester)

I'm horrified he might be going to Liverpool...

Hasn't this always been the case, though?

The bigger clubs spend a lot more than the smaller clubs?

Do feel people go on like football was a lot more competitive before PSR.

It's always been like this since the start of the premier league.
Difference is that if ‘smaller’ clubs got rich benefactors like Blackburn and to some extend Newcastle under Shepard & the other fella, they weren’t restricted from spending as they are now.

As much as I hate the RS getting Isak do make sure to pay loads of Geordie heads and give them fake sympathy on the socials.

To be brutally honest it has, but not, nowhere near to the extent it is now. PSR, FFP the top clubs apparently worked with Masters to set the standard of these and it's come to a point where the other 14 clubs can't really spend money at all. Even the super rich Newcastle, cup winners from last year and Champions league entrants for the second year running are looking carefully at their finances, as are Aston Villa, there is a stark warning for those who dare to dream and have a little success. Liverpool, City, Man United, Chelsea and Arsenal can just about spend what they like, other clubs who take time and try to build their teams the right way are stripped of their best players, look at Bornemouth and Brentford as two examples. The glass ceiling is just about impenetrable now.
