Now we're looking more at youngsters.

Bringing in these 3 youngsters, that lad from Southend, the American and the German.

It's good to know we're looking forward to the future and possibly building for a better squad. Obviously there must be something in these 3 lads to bring them abroad to the club. I'd say 1 in 3 must play some kind of decent standard when they have made it through the youth ranks, so one of these must at least play some kind of decent standard for us?

Moyes has been criticised in the past for not looking outside of Britain and rightly so imo, there is alot of foriegn talent around and we need to make use of it. Look at Arsenal, Wenger has shown that he can bring in some gems. Although we do need to combine this with expierence and not go all out under 21's like Arsenal.

Nice to see we're building for the future none the less.

I agree with you. If you have the opportunity, listen to Ray Hall on the OS interview (EvertonTV) and the Everton Academy awards. In one part he talks about the staff when he got there (him and three scouts, if I remember rightly) and what they have now (over 100 full and part-time staff involved in the academy).

Of course we are going to get some young players who we buy in who don't make it but I'm excited that we are taking this approach and that we are so pro-active.

Posted via Mobile Device With our lack of funds it's not only neccesary but crucial to our future that Moyes invests time in bringing these youngsters in.

Hes adding different things to his game on a daily basis, could be the next big thing this Cal lid.

Never win anything with kids tho. But whats this Moyes fella up to? Buying promising young players? Doesnt he realise this is Everton, we only buy half arsed legends like Ginola or Gazza.

Interesting going back to this idea in the light of the story about Premier League clubs agreeing to quotas in today's papers:
European law, he explained, prevents clubs selecting players on the basis of nationality, so Uefa's definition of "homegrown" means players who have trained at a club for three years between 16 and 21. Critics – including the Premier League over the years – have pointed out that such young players are not necessarily English; Cesc Fábregas, for example, qualifies as homegrown at Arsenal.

Cal confuses me, on one hand hes all silas marner and is 'furious' that we dont have millions and millions to splash on some prem no mark and then posts a thread like this which is an obvious way of not spending money!

It's called being realistic. I don't have one view on everything you know...
