In fairness yes Keane would undoubtedly be better than either of the two current clowns up front, but it'll never happen. He could hardly be worse, could he? He generally dominates in the air, has proven he can score from both long and short range, and has had quick feet to provide assists. Obvious pain point would be that he's slow and couldn't beat a defender in a foot race.

But never happening — so hopefully a new striker is just a few games away, but I won't be holding my breath.

What's an extra year waiting when you've already waited 40-odd years for genuine success? One measly FA Cup when we were absolutely dog chit barely counts for me.

Barry will start up front for this one. We don't have the squad to rotate though and this is their second home game in a row so I would expect us to be overrun in the second half. If we could somehow get a goal to hang on to that would help.

Injuries aside its infuriating how we've essentially forfeited some very winnable christmas fixtures. The club knew AFCON would stretch us, but who needs a contingency plan when we can save a few shekels. Moyes essentially caught with his pants down for the best part of a month which could cost us a potentially lucrative fa cup run and a comfortable mid table end of season run.

No idea how you've come up with this take? Even if we did add to the squad in the summer with short term signings there's no guarantee we would win all these winnable fixtures. We're already heading for a comfortable mid table finish so not sure how our lack of a squad is costing us that. By the start of the FA Cup we should have players back anyway

Check the stats in the past 5 years have a nasty habit of going to sleep early December and not waking up (usually after a sacking) until march.
Leeds, Bournemouth and Forest (if we don't turn up tomorrow) will be nipping at our heels very soon. We were 5th a few weeks back - the frustration is why do we constantly put ourselves in this position and fail to push on.

there was a football team called arsenal fc and they had a little situation where they had no strikers available so they played some midfielder called Merino as the striker and he went on to score 6 goals and get 3 assists in 12 games whilst playing as the striker

i guess the moral of the story is that maybe trying something different aint so bad after all

maybe when ndiaye comes back from his holidays we could play him as the striker and dibling on the right wing or something you know
