We played in the European Cup in the 1963/64 and 1970/71 seasons. Yes, I know it was decades ago but it still counts nonetheless. We qualified for the 1985/86 and 1987/88 seasons, but we all know what happened there. If we had won the whole competition in just one of those seasons, imagine how things could have panned out. Instead, we are left scraping the barrel, much in the same way as this post is doing.

Worth adding that Forest have won the European Cup twice, in back-to-back seasons in the late seventies.
All agreed - but I was talking about the Champions League from 1992 onwards when, along with the Premier League, modern football was born - with all the grim commercialism that brought.

Yes - I should know more than most that football existed before 1992 (I have a ginormous library of old footie DVDs), but the 1992 period onwards nicely overlaps with Bill Kenwright's presence on our board. I find it staggering that in that time clubs far smaller than us have made it into the big show, while we give thanks and rejoice at dramatic last-ditch home wins over Crystal Palace and Bournemouth to merely survive.

Talk about decline...

Absolutely disgraceful that Forest and Villa have made Champions League before us. How many English clubs have made the CL now? Leeds, Man U, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs, Blackburn, Newcastle, Villa, Chelsea, City, Leicester, and now bloody Forest?

When are we going to start living up to the "big club" tag?

That said, well done Forest.
You know we qualified in 04/05 right?

Expect us to lose this tbh.

Would like a bold team selection and a bold approach, and see where that takes us.

and we qualified when 'they' changed the rules and let the RS in because they cried that 'we wanna defend our trophy' (even though they knew before they kicked a ball in that trophy winning campain, that it wouldn't be enough to get them into the CL)

Forest aren’t there yet.. City, Chelsea and Newcastle are gonna get very close to them I think.

We didn't.

We made it into the qualifiers.
I suppose you're not technically wrong but it just feels like being negative for being negatives sake. Us, Newcastle and Villa all finished 4th and so were entered into the champions league. We just went into an earlier round because we achieved a 4th place finish years and years before they did.
