I fully believe he'd take a massive wage cut to come here. But if we sold Fellaini we'd have to use all of that £25m transfer fee to buy him.

Can we afford to sell one player to buy another when our squad needs adding to ? I'm not sure.

I think he would too. After all, he's only got 1 career and something about this makes me feel there's a little bit of regret on Rooney's side.

It wouldn't make great business sense. As you say, we need to address other areas of the pitch but there's no doubting that we are crying out for a good striker. There would be little or no sell on value too.

That's an absolutely huge pay cut. He's worth more than £75k a week as well.

If Rooney is serious about coming home then he would take a pay cut. It's not as if he is skint.
