Not A Transfer Rumour..... Wayne Rooney

What about all the vile abuse he got before the whole kissing the badge saga. Should that mean he should never want to come back because of what was aimed at him??

Tbf he was young and retaliating. I'm pretty sure that game is a regret he wishes he could change. I would certainly forgive as said as long as he's still got the talent.

If we as fans would love to see him back owning a few derby's....imagine how he must feel about one day owning the derby matches.

29 would be fine. Look at RVP. We'd be getting him without paying a fee. I think he cares and would take the pay cut to have a few years here. What we'd get is a world class talent who'll be eager to make up for the past. A reinvigorated Rooney could see the past forgotten in a few minutes of football. Obviously, some things may NEVER be forgotten, such as his conduct on an important day for the family of a club legend, but football-wise, it's a no-brainer.

Importantly, he's a winner. I want him on our side in derbies and other big games. I'd be over the moon from a footballing perspective.

I have a feeling he will come back one day just hope still has a lot to offer and not too washed up. We are a different club now and I'm sure he won't want that sort of money to return to the club he still loves. If his son grows up a toffee surely seeing your boy see you play for his team would be more rewarding than anything. Maybe that's just me!

If he re-signed after letting his contract run out then took a huge pay cut, then fair play I'd have the lad back. Most of us would do exactly the same thing after earning enough to last 10 lifetimes. Would hate it if he became the next 'Neville' though and got picked regardless of form/if he didn't still had the legs because of reputation/influence.

If he's still a good player at 30 and can do a job here then why bloody not?

In regards to the pictures posted. I'm sure all the abuse chanted towards him on his returns will be forgotten by him.

When they bought RVP his downhill started. I mean it like aint number one anymore, huge blow mentally. And why does he shoot penalties, SAFs way to make him feel important.

Read/heard the same from Liverpool fans with regards to Suarez.

If Wayne Rooney was now to go on and score goals week in week out in an Everton shirt and playing at Goodison park every week, he would take a pay cut.
Yes he left and looked greedy, but he went on to win trophies and also became one of the best players in the world.
He also saved the club and made us better by leaving when he did, I'd have him back in a flash and he'd come back in a flash.
He's still a massive massive blue and everyone knows it, those who don't want him to come back need to look at the bigger picture.

Dan, what's your opinion on a possible Rooney return?

His contract expires in June 2015.

If he comes back then, at 29, great.

If not, you'd be looking at Wayne Rooney looking for a final pay off, on his terms at 33/34 - at which case I hope we've got enough about us to say "Thanks, but no thanks"
