In the wake of the horse meat scandal it got me wondering if that many people have eaten it and not noticed it can't be that bad? Personally I am not arsed in the least about horse meat and imagine I'd quite enjoy it if I ate it knowingly.

It also got me wondering what non traditional meats have you eaten, and did you enjoy them/what do they taste like?

I'm counting traditional meats as beef, pork, chicken, lamb, turkey and duck.

In addition to this I've eaten: zebra, reindeer, springbok, antelope and goat. All were lovely except the springbok.

Reindeer. Feckin' fantastic stuff. As nice a meat as I've tasted. My mate Claes who lives in Sweden had shot and cured it himself, absolutely melt in the mouth, nicer version of beef/venison type red meat. Not as iron-y as venison.

Jamaican Curry Goat is one of my absolute faviourite things to eat in the world.

Cat. Pigeon. Platypus (the bill is tasty slow roasted). Koala bear. Panda (very nice in an apricot tagine. Yep fusion cooking right there!)

what's cat like? always wondered
